There is no withdrawal or reduction of Iranian forces in Syria.

The trend indicates the contrary:

A continuation of a Syrian recruitment campaign in support of Iranian militias.

The continuing of the influx of militia activists into Syria, and the continuation of the Shi’itezation processes in the Al-Bukamal and Aleppo districts.

The continuing Iranian campaign to mobilize activists in Syria:

  1. Based on reports from the Syrian Center for Human Rights (Opposition), there are more than 6250 militants in southern Syria.
  2. The number of militia recruits in eastern Syria, in the Deir ez-Zor region reaches about 4700.

Iranian militia activities in Al-Bukamal and Deir ez-Zor

  1. The “Eyn Alfurat” network reported that Iran has introduced the Iraqi pro-Iranian “Almuntazar” militia into the Al-Bukamal region. The militia began deploying in the Euphrates area after undergoing street combat training near the border with Syria in Al-Qa’im, Iraq. The purpose of the militia’s entry is to take control of the residents of Deir ez-Zor who oppose the Iranian occupation.
  2. In addition, it is evident there are recent large reinforcements of the “Fatemiyoun Brigade” entering into Syria (between tens and hundreds of activists).

The “deirezzor24” network reported that Iranian militias and troops loyal to the Syrian regime set fire to farmers’ crops in the village of Abu Khashab, northwest of the city of Deir ez-Zor. On 10 May, three fires broke out in the village in the agricultural areas where barley is grown. The torching came as revenge against the residents of Deir ez-Zor that expressed their opposition to the Syrian regime.

Province of Aleppo – City of Aleppo – the Shi’itezation trend by Shiite militias controlling the area

  1. According to the “Orient” website, since the beginning of Ramadan the Iranian militias have acted to leave their mark on the areas under their control in the city of Aleppo, and especially in the Al-Nayrab refugee camp.
  2. Implementing this policy, the Iranian militias have replaced most of the street names of the refugee camp and its schools, as well as the public places with Iranian names.

Iranian militias control the entire surroundings of the city as well as the controlling of vital sites inside the city, most notably the Nairab military airport and the Aleppo International Airport.
