One of the more visible expressions of the crisis in Lebanon is the fact that the authorities are not picking up trash from public streets. Hezbollah knows very well how to take advantage of this situation by starting a new campaign in Sidon to assume the trash pickup role from the government. The people’s support and reliance on Hezbollah allows the organization to do as they please and strengthen the “Hezbollah State”, which will ultimately replace the Lebanese State in accordance with the Islamic Revolution’s vision.
