The main mission of the Radwan Unit is to invade Israeli territory and take over Israeli communities and territories. Due to the threat posed by the Radwan Unit, since the beginning of the war, the IDF has been working to eliminate its operatives and damage its infrastructure along the border. Since October 8, 2023, 10 senior operatives of the Radwan Unit have been eliminated, including the unit commander, Wissam al-Tawil. Among the senior operatives eliminated are three regional commanders (equivalent to brigade commanders), senior commanders, knowledge and technology experts, and significant operatives.
In our estimation, the Radwan Unit still has a certain ability to carry out an infiltration operation into Israeli territory in a targeted area.
