Daily Update, August 21, 2024 – 15:00 – Northern Arena

1. Over the past 24 hours, #Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for 14 attacks against #Israel using a variety of weapons, including high-trajectory fire, anti-tank missiles, suicide UAVs, and surface-to-air missiles.

2. Additionally, yesterday (August 20), a UAV incursion on Israeli territory in the Dovev region. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

3. Yesterday (August 20), Hezbollah launched about 40 Grad rockets at the Shomera and Mattat areas. According to Hezbollah, the attacks were in response to an IDF strike in Al-Dhayra yesterday, killing four Hezbollah terrorists.

4. Last night, the #IDF carried out another series of attacks against Hezbollah targets in the Nabi Cheet, Bodai, and Taraiyya areas in the Beqaa Valley. The strikes targeted weapons storage facilities and a site used by Hezbollah’s air defense array. The Beqaa Valley serves as a logistical and strategic area for Hezbollah, where it maintains numerous weapon storage sites. Therefore, the IDF efforts to target this area should be increased, assuming that Hezbollah’s weapons arriving in southern Lebanon and used against Israel come from the Beqaa.

5. This morning, in response to the attacks in the Beqaa Valley, Hezbollah launched about 50 Grad rockets toward the city of Katzrin in the Golan Heights, and suicide UAVs at the Upper Galilee. Several rockets hit Katzrin, injuring one civilian. A video and images from social media are attached (Credit: Unknown).

6. This morning (August 21), the IDF eliminated Khalil Al-Maqdah in an attack in the Mieh Mieh refugee camp, near Sidon. Al-Maqdah was a senior member of the Fatah Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, who operated in cooperation with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. Further details on al-Maqdah will be published later.

7. Additionally, over the past 24 hours, the IDF has attacked several Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, including compounds and rocket launchers in the areas of Beit Leif, Ayta ash Shab, Matmoura, Wadi Hamoul, and Ramia, and Tallouseh in southern #Lebanon.
