Since November 2, 2023, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has claimed responsibility for 312 attacks against Israel. Of these, 89 reached Israeli territory (intercepted or fell in open areas). Reports indicated that 4 attacks struck targets within Israel. One of them occurred on October 3, 2024, when a UAV struck a military base in the Golan Heights, killing two soldiers and wounding 23 others.
Since October 2024, when the ground maneuvers in Lebanon began, there has been a significant increase in the number of Islamic Resistance groups in Iraq claiming responsibility for attacks against Israel. Consequently, there has been a rise in the number of attacks that have reached Israeli territory. Most attacks are carried out by UAVs.
The vast majority of the attacks (70%) that the Islamic Resistance in Iraq claims to be carrying out against Israel do not actually reach Israeli territory, and there is no further verification other than their claim of responsibility.
However, based on the general claim of responsibility, there has been a general upward trend in the percentage of attacks that succeeded in reaching Israeli territory over the past six months.
