Weekend Update (March 6–7): Iranian Attacks Against Israel During the War (Day 8 of the War)

Starting with this update, the data will be calculated and presented according to full calendar days (00:00–23:59) rather than rolling 24-hour periods. During the weekend (March 6–7), 19 Iranian attack waves using ballistic missiles were identified against Israel. The majority of the attacks targeted the Tel Aviv area (63.2%), while 26.3% targeted southern Israel and 10.5%targeted the Jerusalem area. Since the beginning of the operation (February 28), 165 attack waves have been identified in total, involving ballistic missiles and UAVs. Geographically, the central region—particularly the Tel Aviv metropolitan area—has been the primary target (38.5%), followed by the south (23.1%), the north (21.3%), and the Jerusalem area (17.2%). The strong focus on the Tel Aviv area (where approximately 4 million Israelis reside) may indicate deliberate targeting of major population centers and Israel’s primary urban and economic hubs, to maximize psychological impact and civilian harm. In terms of the daily number of attack waves, after a peak on March 1 (55 attack waves), a gradual decline has been observed. In recent days, the number of attacks has stabilized, with 7 attack waves identified on March 6 and 12, and 7 on March 7. Impact on the civilian area in Israel: Since the beginning of the war, 12 civilians have been killed in Israel and more than 1,900 injured to varying degrees. Approximately 150 civilians were injured in the last 24 hours alone. More than 3,000 residents have been forced to evacuate their homes due to missile impacts and interception debris. The main cities where damage from Iranian missiles has been recorded include Tel Aviv, Bnei Brak, Ramat Gan, Petah Tikva, Beit Shemesh, and Be’er Sheva.
