At the Alma center we host thousands of visitors globally, who want to learn more about Israel’s security challenges on the northern borders and the unique human mosaic in the Galilee, home to nearly 1.5 million people from different cultures and religions.
Visitors to the Alma Research & Education Center have the opportunity to experience Israeli security challenges through a Security Crisis Simulation.
Participants take on the roles of Israeli Cabinet members in the situation room and interact in real-time to a simulated security crisis featuring top secret intelligence reports and breaking news. They feel the pressure of making critical decisions that impact Israel’s national security.
A visit to a border community that was evacuated at the onset of the war, including a special conversation with one of its residents.
This intimate encounter offers a unique opportunity for direct dialogue, providing emotional firsthand accounts and deep insight into the residents’ experiences – how the war impacted their families, businesses, livelihoods, daily routines, and what their lives look like today.
At the Alma Research & Educations Center, groups meet two to three speakers from different communities, ethnic backgrounds, and identities, creating a tapestry of personalities from the Galilee region in northern Israel. Each person will express his/her viewpoint on a number of issues concerning their community and will take part in an interactive Q&A session. Responding to questions from the moderator and the audience.
There are different ways to tell the story of conflicts in the Middle East in general, and the Arab-Israeli conflicts in particular. We will discuss the basic facts vs. myths related to these issues.
