At the Alma center we host thousands of visitors globally, who want to learn more about Israel’s security challenges on the northern borders and the unique human mosaic in the Galilee, home to nearly 1.5 million people from different cultures and religions.
Visitors to the Alma Center for Research & Education have the opportunity to experience Israeli security challenges through the Security Crisis Simulation. Participants take on the roles of Israeli Cabinet members in the situation room and interact in real-time to a simulated security crisis featuring top secret intelligence reports and breaking news. You feel the pressure of what it is like to make critical decisions that impact Israel’s national security.

Avnei Eitan: The story of an agricultural Moshav near the Syrian border from the perspective of a local resident.
Avnei Eitan is a religious Moshav (rural village) located in the southern part of the Golan Heights about five kilometers from the Syrian border. The Moshav was established in 1974 by members of the Nahal Brigade, an IDF brigade that served in this area. The Moshav is named after eight of its members, who were killed in the battles of the Yom Kippur War.
At the Alma Research & Educations Center, groups meet two to three speakers from different communities, ethnic backgrounds, and identities, creating a tapestry of personalities from the Galilee region in northern Israel. Each person will express his/her viewpoint on a number of issues concerning their community and will take part in an interactive Q&A session. Responding to questions from the moderator and the audience.
There are different ways to tell the story of conflicts in the Middle East in general, and the Arab-Israeli conflicts in particular. We will discuss the basic facts vs. myths related to these issues.
Participants will experience the job of a news editor navigating the complex realities of the Middle East.
