Airstrike on Dahieh: Targeting Hezbollah’s Palestinian Connection in Beirut

On April 1, a nine-story building in Dahieh, Beirut, was attacked from the air. The top three floors were severely damaged. According to the IDF spokesman, the target was a Hezbollah operative who had directed Hamas operatives and assisted them in attempting to carry out a serious attack in the immediate future against Israeli civilians. According to various reports, the authenticity of which we cannot verify at this stage, the target was Hassan Badir, the deputy in charge of the “Palestinian file” in Hezbollah. It should be remembered that Hezbollah and Hamas are also operating and planning to carry out attacks outside of Israel against Jewish targets (Jewish communities abroad) and Israeli targets (Israeli tourists, embassies, etc.). It should be noted that the main role of Unit 910 in Hezbollah is to carry out terrorist attacks around the world. The unit is commanded by Talal Hamiya. Another unit to carry out attacks within Israel and also to carry out attacks in other countries against Israeli interests is Unit 133 (“Lebanon-Palestine Operations Unit”), whose current commander may be Hajj Khalil Harb. Both of these units cooperate with Palestinian terrorist organizations to carry out terrorist attacks. If indeed Badir was the target, or if it was another Hezbollah operative, then it is not known whether he operated under and with the assistance of one of these units or in some other way.
