Dec.14 at night, a UNIFIL jeep from the Irish regiment overturned in ElAkabiya village, south of Sidon. As a result, a UNIFIL officer was killed & 3 soldiers were injured. Several locals were injured. Apparently, they lost their way, caught up in the village, and were shot at.
The vehicle was on its way to the Beirut airport and was traveling from south to north. Apparently, a wrong turn led to the Shiite village, and the result is known.
