Daily Update, October 23, 2024 – 16:00 – Northern Arena

  • In the last 24 hours, 48 attacks were carried out from Lebanon against Israel, of which Hezbollah claimed responsibility for 29 of them.
  • The attacks targeted communities near the border such as Kiryat Shmona, Misgav Am, Malkiya, Manara, Dishon, and Manara, as well as the cities of Acre, Carmiel, and the Krayot area. Additionally, two projectiles were fired towards the Tel Aviv area and the Jezreel Valley.
  • Yesterday (October 22), Hezbollah launched about 30 rockets at the community of Beit HaEmek. Videos of a rocket hitting near a residential building and fires caused in the community are attached (credit: unknown).
  • Yesterday, the IDF announced that about three weeks ago, in a strike on a Hezbollah headquarters in the Dahieh, Hashem Safieddine, Head of the Hezbollah Executive Council, and Ali Hussein Hazima, Commander of Hezbollah’s Intelligence Headquarters, were eliminated. Along with them, over 25 Hezbollah terrorists were inside Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters.
  • In the past 24 hours, targeted airstrikes by the IDF struck 10 command and control centers belonging to various Hezbollah military units, including command centers of the Radwan unit, and Hezbollah weapons depots in Beirut. Additionally, several weapons storage, manufacturing facilities and command centers of Hezbollah located within civilian buildings in Dahieh were also struck.
  • Prior to the strike, numerous steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming civilians, including advanced warnings issued via different platforms to the civilian population in the area, using precise munitions, and leveraging aerial surveillance.
  • In the last 48 hours, Hezbollah commanders of the Jibchit, Jouaiya, and Qana sectors have been eliminated by the IDF. In just the last day, about 70 Hezbollah militants were eliminated.
  • IDF also eliminated Khalil Mohammad Amhaz, a terrorist operative in Hezbollah’s Aerial Unit (127), in the Hermel area of Lebanon.
  • The IDF’s maneuvering forces located and destroyed Hezbollah underground infrastructure, including weapon storages with rocket and grenade launchers, anti-tank missiles, mortar shells, RPGs, body armor, Kornet missiles, ammunition, and additional military equipment.
  • Attached are images of Hezbollah weapons identified by IDF forces in a mosque located in the heart of a civilian neighborhood in southern Lebanon.
  • Today (October 22), Hezbollah launched over 55 projectiles towards the Krayot area, Acre, and Kiryat Shmona.
  • The Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for seven UAVs attacks on targets across Israel. The IDF reported three UAVs that were intercepted while approaching Israeli territory. No further indications were reported regarding the other attacks.
