Deir ez-zor – An Attack on a Bus of Syrian Army Soldiers by ISIS

ISIS continues to attack in eastern #Syria. On the night between August 10 and 11, over 25 Syrian soldiers were killed in an ISIS attack against a Syrian army transport bus east of Deir ez-zor. The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement that directly accuses the United States of being responsible for the deadly attack against the soldiers’ bus.

According to the Syrians, “ISIS operates under direct American sponsorship and support…” In the attached video you can see the attack on the bus from an ambush by #ISIS in the Deir ez-zor area. The bus was burned from the attack and all its passengers were killed. It is not clear whether ISIS has an organized chain of command in Syria today. Throughout Syria, with an emphasis on the east, many squads of ISIS operatives operate. Each of these squads may operate independently and locally.

Since the Syrian regime regained control of eastern and southern Syria, with the assistance of the Shia Axis, we recognize a big difficulty in dealing with these squads, which continue to carry out numerous attacks.
