Hezbollah Air-Defense Array Entrenching in Qalmoun Syria

Hezbollah appears to be deploying part of its air defense system in the Qalmoun Mountains region northwest of Damascus. The Qalmoun region borders the Lebanese Bekaa region, which serves as Hezbollah’s logistical and operational rear base.

Assuming that Hezbollah has independent air defense batteries (SA8, SA17, SA22) the operational rationale is to deploy them in the Qalmoun Mountains as well. Allowing Hezbollah to defend the Bekaa region and can also protect against war between wars in Syria.

It should be noted that the Iranians are not sparing efforts to transfer to Hezbollah
Iranian air defense systems like “Bavar 373”.
