On March 4, 2026, Hezbollah’s commander of the Fire Management and Support Unit, Zaid Ali Juma, also known by the nickname “Fidai,” was killed in Beirut. The Fire Management and Support Unit is responsible for coordinating and operating the rocket arrays, artillery, mortars, and UAVs. On the lower part of the unit’s emblem it reads “Fire Support Unit,” and on the upper part appears part of a verse from the Quran: “Even when you shot, it was not you who shot; God (Allah) is the one who shot.” This sentence is taken from verse 17 of Surah Al-Anfal in the Quran: “You did not kill them; it was Allah who killed them. And when you threw, it was not you who threw, but Allah who threw, so that He might test the believers with a good trial. Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.” The verse encourages believers to overcome the enemy even when the enemy is greater in number.
