Following the IDF Spokesperson’s announcement (14 November 2025) regarding Hezbollah’s Unit 121 and its responsibility for the assassination of Elias al- Hasrouni, a senior member of Samir Geagea’s Lebanese Forces party in southern Lebanon in August 2023:
On 27 November 2023, we published a report detailing Hezbollah’s military units, which we presented at the time in the attached organizational chart. Unit 121 (located at the bottom left of the chart) is one of the most secretive among the seven units we defined as “covert units” within Hezbollah. Unit 121 is also known as “the Death Unit.” It carries out targeted assassinations under the direct order of Hezbollah’s leader. The unit operates through a “single assassin” method or via an “assassination team.” As noted, this unit is accused of the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic al-Hariri.
