Hezbollah’s ‘Divine Victory Tournament’: Blending Sports, Ideology, and Recruitment in Sidon

The Sidon branch of Hezbollah’s “Sports Recruitment” organization, operating under the Education Unit of the Executive Council, held the “Divine Victory Tournament” in swimming on August 28 to commemorate the “victory” in the July 2006 war. The event took place in the presence of Hezbollah representatives, Palestinian organization representatives, and a large crowd from the city and nearby refugee camps. Young athletes from the region participated, and the atmosphere was presented as a celebration of sports and community resilience. The goal of “Sports Recruitment” is to instill Hezbollah’s values in the younger generation and attract young people through sports. This serves as a key tool for indoctrination. The focus on specific sports (swimming, martial arts, running, rope climbing, shooting) incorporates elements of preparation for military activities and the evaluation of potential recruits for Hezbollah’s various units. Hezbollah is currently undergoing rehabilitation processes, including recruiting New Hezbollah operatives. For example Such a swimming tournament provides an opportunity to assess older teenagers from the Shiite community as potential candidates for Hezbollah’s naval unit.

  1. Dear Tal,
Thanks for exposing this deadly “hezbollah sports” being perpetrated upon the youth.
As demonstrated on October 7, the Death Cult indoctrination to practice the most vile atrocities to steal, kill, torture, rape and destroy for sport does not just arrive spontaneously. It is drilled into the children as was done in the Hitler Nazi youth camps.
This EVIL must be confronted and defeated NOW!!!
