IDF Strikes on Threats in Lebanon: 01 – 07 September 2025

In the past week (September 01–07, 2025), three Hezbollah operatives were eliminated, including Rabat, in the village of Yater. In addition, in the village of Shebaa, an operative in the Lebanese Brigade for Resistance (a Hezbollah proxy) was eliminated. The IDF also carried out several strikes against military infrastructure, most of them south of the Litani. The notable strikes targeted engineering equipment used, among other things, for construction work and the restoration of Hezbollah’s military infrastructure. The Jihad al-Binaa organization of Hezbollah operates civilian engineering companies (mostly Shiite-owned), which possess heavy mechanical engineering equipment. Jihad al-Binaa is essentially Hezbollah’s construction and infrastructure contractor. It operates under the social unit of the Executive Council. Despite the ostensibly civilian cover, Jihad al-Binaa is fully involved in the construction and restoration of Hezbollah’s military infrastructure. Jihad al-Binaa was responsible, among other things, for building Hezbollah’s “land of tunnels” across Lebanon, with an emphasis on approach tunnels, and the offensive tunnels of the Radwan unit. Jihad al-Binaa works in close cooperation with Hezbollah’s military assets unit, which is responsible for the entire construction, leasing, and maintenance of assets (houses / warehouses / bunkers and the like) for Hezbollah in support of its military infrastructure
