IDF Strikes on Threats in Lebanon: 08 – 14 September 2025

In the past week (September 8–14), weapons depots and engineering equipment were attacked in South Lebanon. In addition, the IDF eliminated nine Hezbollah operatives, including five Radwan operatives who were eliminated at Radwan Unit training bases in the Beqaa. Furthermore, Waseem Saeed Jba’ae, a Hezbollah operative belonging to the “Imam Hussein Division,” was also eliminated. The Imam Hussein Division was established as an Iranian Shiite militia under the Quds Force and operated in Syria. Some of its operatives (including its commander, Dhu al-Fiqar Hinawi) were Lebanese and were originally Hezbollah operatives. At the beginning of the war, some of its Lebanese operatives were transferred back to Lebanon to reinforce Hezbollah, and to our understanding, they operated as an organic force within Hezbollah. With the fall of the Assad regime, its Lebanese operatives returned to Lebanon, and the rest of the operatives apparently went back to their places of origin (mainly Syrians and Iraqis, as well as Afghans, Pakistanis, Yemenis, and Sudanese). In our assessment, the Lebanese operatives of the division continue today to function as an organic force within Hezbollah. It should be noted that this is not the first time a Hezbollah operative who also belonged to the Imam Hussein Division has been eliminated. On March 2, 2024, three Hezbollah operatives who belonged to the division were eliminated in the Ras Bayada area, north of Naqoura.
