Jihadist Indoctrination at the Al Qadam Al Kabir Mosque in Damascus

While the war against Iran and Hezbollah continues, Islamist-jihadist indoctrination is deepening among the next generation in Syria under the leadership of Ahmad al-Sharaa.

The attached pictures come from the “Al-Qadam al-Kabir” Mosque (مسجد القدم الكبير), located in the al-Qadam neighborhood in southern Damascus. The footage shows children dressed in military uniforms and wearing red headbands, belonging to the “Khalid ibn al-Walid Circle” (حلقة خالد ابن وليد).

Khalid ibn al-Walid is a central historical figure in Islamic tradition – a commander who initially fought against Muhammad and later converted to Islam and became one of the most prominent commanders in Muhammad’s army. The use of his name is not coincidental; it is intended to instill values of combat, discipline, and in this context also submission to Islam.

In the official publication of the event on the mosque’s Facebook page, it was written:
“We ask Allah to create a generation of might, that will liberate Jerusalem by their hands…”

Since Ahmad al-Sharaa came to power, there has been a growing body of evidence indicating the systematic embedding of Salafi-jihadist ideology among youth and young people. As early as December 2025, we exposed the rapid spread of the Islamist-Salafist school network “Dar al-Wahi al-Sharif,” affiliated with the organization, which has already reached more than 70 institutions across Syria.

Alongside Western openness toward Syria, an opposite trend is intensifying within the country: the deepening of extremist ideological education shaping the next generation in a jihadist spirit.
