Monthly Summary: IDF Airstrikes in Lebanon and Hezbollah Activity – February 2026

February 2026 was characterized by a significant decrease in the number of IDF strikes against threats in Lebanon. A total of 44 airstrikes were carried out, a 50% decrease compared to January, during which 88 strikes were conducted.

Geographically, 16 strikes were carried out in southern Lebanon north of the Litani River, 15 in the Beqaa Valley, and 13 south of the Litani.

In total, 13 strikes resulted in the elimination of 20 terrorist operatives – 16 Hezbollah operatives, 2 Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives, and 2 Hamas operatives.

Since the beginning of the ceasefire, a total of 267 Hezbollah operatives have been eliminated.

Breakdown of IDF Airstrikes by Area: Elimination of Operatives vs. Damage to Terror Infrastructure (February 2026)

As part of the strikes on terror infrastructure, several engineering vehicles used by Hezbollah to rehabilitate terror infrastructure were targeted, as well as weapons depots hidden within civilian populations (prior to the strikes, the IDF issued advance warnings in order to minimize harm to civilians), storage shafts for weapons, rocket launchers, military sites, and camps belonging to the Radwan Unit.

In addition, 16 Hezbollah operatives were eliminated. Of these, eight were eliminated in the Beqaa region, five south of the Litani River, and three north of the Litani.

Among the positions held by the operatives who were eliminated: head of a branch in the Engineering Department, a senior figure in the air defense array, the artillery commander in the Yanouh area, the person responsible for the Tayr Harfa sector, and a senior figure in the missile array.

The graph presents the scope of IDF airstrikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon on a monthly basis, from the beginning of the ceasefire on November 27, 2024, through February 28, 2026.

Since the start of the ceasefire on November 27, 2024, the IDF has carried out 855 strikes across Lebanon.

Note – The term “strike” refers to a single strike or to multiple strikes carried out in the same area, and does not reflect the number of targets that were attacked.

Geographic distribution of IDF strikes in Lebanon (November 27, 2024 – February 28, 2026)

The graph presents the distribution of IDF airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon by geographic area from the beginning of the ceasefire on November 27, 2024, through February 28, 2026. Throughout the period, it is evident that most of the strikes were carried out south of the Litani River.

Over the past four months, beginning in November 2025, a gradual increase in strikes north of the Litani has been recorded. This increase peaked in January 2026, indicating an expansion of the scope of aerial activity in this area. In the Beqaa region, more limited activity was recorded throughout the period, though with a consistent presence and even a slight increase this month, indicating an ongoing effort to target Hezbollah’s infrastructure and logistical depth.

Similar to the past two months (November–January 2025), the majority of IDF strikes in February 2026 were carried out in the area north of the Litani.
