Najib Mikati Receives the Mandate to Form a Government in Lebanon

Najib Mikati has been given the mandate to form a government in Lebanon. He is a Sunni Muslim born in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli. He has previously served as prime minister twice.

Mikati is 66 years old, a billionaire who made his fortune from communications, commerce, and real estate. His appointment as the previous ones was obviously approved and supported by Hezbollah.
