Ali Ramzi Al-Asoud, 31 years old, an engineer, defined as one of the commanders of the PIJ’s military arm in Syria, was killed by unknowns on March 19 through gunfire in the al-Qadisiyyah area in Damascus. In a formal statement, the PIJ blames Israel for his death.

The PIJ in Syria has a relatively developed military infrastructure (compared to Lebanon) and it operates from there, under the auspices of the Syrian regime and the Shiite axis. The PIJ operates from several arenas in a coordinated manner (Gaza Strip/ Judea and Samaria/ Syria/ Lebanon). It is possible that Al-Asoud is connected with the transfer of technical knowledge and assistance to the PIJ activities in Judea and Samaria, and involvement in carrying out terrorist attacks.
