The Elimination of Mohammed Said Izadi Aka “Haj Ramadan” – June 21, 2025

In the early morning hours of June 21, Mohammed Said Izadi—also known by the alias “Haj Ramadan”—was killed in a targeted airstrike on an apartment on the upper floor of a residential building in the city of Qom (Salarieh neighborhood). He was approximately 61 years old. Izadi had served as the head of the Palestine Branch of the Quds Force since 2014. This branch is responsible for maintaining continuous contact between the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Palestinian terrorist organizations. It oversees operational and financial support, as well as capacity building for Palestinian groups—particularly Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad—providing training and assisting in the execution of attacks against Israel. The branch also coordinates Palestinian activities with Hezbollah. Izadi was one of the key planners of Iran’s strategy to destroy Israel through a multi-front offensive, including massive rocket and missile fire followed by a ground invasion. According to Hamas documents captured by the IDF in the Gaza Strip (see the January 2025 report by the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center), Izadi was the central Iranian figure involved in coordination and preparations with Hamas in the period leading up to the invasion and massacre on October 7, 2023. He was aware of the invasion plan and supported it, but Hamas deliberately excluded him from the exact execution date. Three senior figures stand out under his command in the branch, one of whom may replace him: Ali Marshad Shirazi (aka “Abu Javad”), born in 1969, head of the branch’s office. Majid Zaree (aka “Abu Ruqayyah”), born in 1977, responsible for operations. Mostafa Majid Khani (aka “Haj Majid”), born in 1961, responsible for instruction and training.
