Weekend Update, October 11-13, 2024 – 15:00 – Northern Arena

  1. Over the past 48 hours, there have been 105 attacks from Lebanon against Israel, of which Hezbollah claimed responsibility for 56 of them. Additionally, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for 12 attacks which could not be confirmed.
  2. The attacks targeted communities near the border, such as the Kiryat Shmona area, Manara, Metula, Shtula, and Rosh Hanikra, as well as Karmiel, the Krayot, Haifa, the Golan Heights, the Lower Galilee, the Jezreel Valley, Safed, and Rosh Pina.
  3. The IDF’s maneuvering forces continued operations to destroy Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure and weaponry. About 800 military vests were in one of the villages in south Lebanon, along with hundreds of weapons including grenades, explosives, Kalashnikovs, and more. In civilian homes, massive amounts of weaponry were found (a photo is attached). A long-range anti-tank missile launching position aimed at Galilee communities was found, alongside dozens of missiles ready for launch.
  • On Friday (October 11), the eve of Yom Kippur, 44 attacks were launched against Israel from Lebanon, of which Hezbollah claimed responsibility for 23 of these attacks.
  • The attacks on Friday targeted communities across northern Israel, up to 50 km deep into Israel; The Krayot and Haifa areas, the Jezreel Valley, the Lower Galilee, central Galilee, and the Golan Heights.
  • On Friday, Hezbollah launched about 100 rockets in several barrages toward the Krayot area, where approximately 100,000 Israeli civilians live, and an additional barrage of about 20 launches toward the cities of Safed and Rosh Pina.
  • Yesterday (October 12), there were 32 attacks against Israel from Lebanon, of which Hezbollah claimed responsibility for 18 of these attacks.
  • Also on Friday, Hezbollah launched two UAVs into central Israel. One UAV was intercepted, while the other struck a nursing home in Herzliya.
  • On Friday, the IDF announced that the terrorist Araeb el Shoga, a commander in the anti-tank unit of Radwan in the Meiss El Jabal area of Hezbollah, was killed.
  • On Friday, two UNIFIL soldiers were injured near Naqoura. Hezbollah continued to use UNIFIL bases and positions in southern Lebanon as human shields and is deliberately operating around them.
  • Additionally, on Friday, two foreign workers were injured due to an explosion caused by Hezbollah ordnance in the Yaroun area. One Thai worker was killed.
  • Yesterday, Hezbollah launched about 30 rockets toward the Metula area and approximately 40 rockets toward the Kiryat Shmona area. Additionally, Hezbollah fired around 37 rockets toward Haifa and the Krayot.
  • Today (October 13), there have already been 29 attacks from Lebanon against Israel. This included fire directed at border-adjacent areas such as Kiryat Shmona, Zar’it, Manara, Shomera, and Metula, as well as deeper into Israel, targeting Haifa and the Krayot, and the areas of Maalot-Tarshiha, Karmiel and Akko.
  • Over the weekend, the IDF eliminated about 50 terrorists in Lebanon and attacked more than 200 Hezbollah targets. Underground tunnel shafts were identified, along with infrastructure used to store weaponry, rocket launchers, mortars, and anti-tank weapons aimed at northern communities and operating forces in the area. IDF found combat equipment, weapons, and ammunition belonging to Hezbollah terrorists.
  • In the airstrikes, dozens of rocket launchers and surface-to-surface missiles were targeted in the depths of southern Lebanon, most of which had been launched toward Israel. Furthermore, underground infrastructure storing Hezbollah weaponry near the Syria-Lebanon border was attacked.
  • In the past 48 hours, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for 9 attacks against targets in northern and southern Israel. Only one UAV was reported intercepted while heading toward Israel from the Red Sea. No additional indications were reported.
