What truly pains Hezbollah?
Targeting its civilian infrastructure, which operates under the Executive Council. This infrastructure serves as Hezbollah’s civilian backbone, sustaining and preserving its Shiite support base while enabling its military terrorist activity.
Qassem is attempting to intimidate and deter by presenting an equation: an attack on this infrastructure would effectively lead to a civil war.
However, Qassem’s threat also exposes the real game changer. His remarks help clarify exactly where efforts to weaken Hezbollah should be focused.
