Key Trends This Week
Over the past week, May 25–31, Hezbollah carried out 227 waves of attacks against Israel and IDF forces, compared with 161 waves of attacks in the previous week, May 18–24. This represents an increase of approximately 41% in the organization’s offensive activity within a single week.
Alongside the overall increase in the scope of attacks, there was also a sharp rise this week in the number of attacks directed at Israeli territory. Whereas last week Hezbollah carried out 40 attacks against Israeli territory, accounting for about one-third of all its attacks, this week the organization carried out 94 attacks against Israeli territory — more than double the previous week.
These attacks accounted for approximately 41% of all weekly attack waves, indicating that a growing share of the organization’s offensive effort is being directed toward the Israeli home front.
Another notable trend this week was the significant increase in indirect fire. Whereas last week Hezbollah carried out 47 attacks using rockets and missiles, this week it carried out 85 attacks of this type — an increase of approximately 81%. However, unmanned aerial vehicles, primarily explosive drones, remained Hezbollah’s main weapon system and accounted for more than half of all attacks carried out over the past week.
In addition, Hezbollah continued its trend of expanding the range of attacks into Israeli territory. In recent days, the organization carried out attacks against the cities of Nahariya, Karmiel, Safed, Acre, the Krayot, and Tiberias, indicating an attempt to continue applying pressure on the Israeli home front beyond the border area.
