Shiite militias have set up a women-composed force in Al Mayadin. These are about 20 women and young women, some of whom do not wear uniforms and some of whom do not openly belong to the militias.
The unit was assigned with four Main Goals:
- The main task is to persuade women and children in the city to join the Iranian cultural centers, which are working to spread the Shiite ideology and assigning some of them to intelligence missions to collect news and information for the militias.
- Locating young people suited for recruitment to the military ranks of the militia.
- Assistance in gathering and intelligence missions for the security forces of the Assad regime.
- to distribute aid and food baskets provided by the commander of the Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas militia in the city, Adnan al-Masoud Abu al-Abbas (al-Zuzu), as one of the means of enticement and enticement to implement Iran’s projects to extend its social influence over the region alongside military control.
