Airstrike on Compound in the Beqaa Valley Outside of Hizzine

By: Tal Beeri.

According to local reports, in an attack attributed to Israel on the morning of December 25, an airstrike targeted a complex of buildings southwest of Hizzine, between Chmistar and Brital, southwest of Baalbek in the Beqaa. It is possible that this was an attempt to damage advanced weapons that Hezbollah had recently acquired, as part of its efforts to rebuild its military strength.

It is also possible that the weapons had already been transferred to Lebanon from Syria before the rebels took over and the weapons corridor to Lebanon was cut off. We do not know what type of weapons were attacked, but it is clear that Hezbollah (with Iranian assistance) will focus great efforts to adjust and adapt to the new circumstances and create alternative solutions for weapons routes.
