Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem issued a congratulatory letter marking the 41st anniversary of the establishment of the “Imam al-Mahdi Scouts” organization. His remarks in the letter illustrate the role of the scouts organization as a central tool for the indoctrination of the younger generation and for the preparation and recruitment of operatives for the organization. In the letter sent by Qassem on 4 February, he presented the organization as an integral part of Hezbollah’s resistance apparatus. In his remarks, Qassem emphasized that the scouts are “rooted in soil irrigated with the blood of the fighters,” and linked educational and youth activity to the military and ideological struggle against Israel and the United States. He praised the organization’s nationwide presence across Lebanon and its role in instilling values of loyalty, sacrifice, and perseverance among the younger generation. The letter incorporated clear religious-revolutionary messages, including references to Imam Khomeini, Imam Khamenei, and Nasrallah, as well as the concept of “preparing for the coming of Imam al-Mahdi,” presenting the scouts organization as Hezbollah’s ideological vanguard for the future. Qassem called on the scouts to continue along the path of “Islam, resistance, and morality,” to adhere to Hezbollah’s identity, and to view themselves as emissaries in a long-term struggle.
