During the week between January 26 and February 2, the IDF carried out 26 airstrikes across Lebanon, in areas both north and south of the Litani River. Sixteen of the strikes were conducted north of the Litani, and an additional nine were carried out in the area south of the Litani. As part of the strikes, 11 Hezbollah operatives were eliminated, including the head of an artillery team in the village of al-Harash, who also operated within Hezbollah’s media network, al-Manar; a department head in the Engineering Unit; and a senior figure in the organization’s air defense array. In addition, military infrastructure and engineering equipment used under civilian cover for the purpose of rehabilitating Hezbollah’s military activity were targeted. Among the targets were weapons depots located inside civilian buildings, for which evacuation warnings to the civilian population were issued prior to the strikes. Most of the infrastructure strikes were carried out in the area north of the Litani River. In parallel with the aerial activity, the IDF conducted five ground operations along the line of contact, as part of the effort to prevent renewed entrenchment and the reconstruction of Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in this area.
