The past week (5–12 January 2026) was characterized by a high intensity of IDF strikes in Lebanon, during which 33 aerial strikes and seven ground operations were carried out.
Most of the aerial strikes were conducted in the area north of the Litani River (17 strikes) and focused on military infrastructure and targets. An additional 11 strikes were carried out south of the Litani, including elimination of operatives and the disruption of attempts to rehabilitate terror infrastructure. Five further strikes were conducted in the Beqaa Valley, targeting weapons depots and military sites.
As part of the aerial campaign, Hezbollah targets were struck, including weapons storage facilities, military structures both above and below ground, a weapons production site, rocket launchers, and tunnel shafts used for storing weapons. In addition, engineering equipment involved in the rehabilitation of terror infrastructure was targeted.
Furthermore, Hamas targets were struck, including a militant who was planning to carry out an imminent terrorist attack against IDF forces, as well as weapons production sites in southern Lebanon.
During the week, two Hezbollah operatives from the aerial unit (Unit 127) were eliminated, along with an engineering operative, a drone operator (Possibly from one of the geographic units), an additional operative who simultaneously served as a member of the Bint Jbeil municipal council And was involved in the rehabilitation of military infrastructure, and another operative whose identity has not yet been released.
All ground operations were conducted in border-adjacent villages, with the aim of thwarting Hezbollah’s rehabilitation efforts and preventing the renewal of its entrenchment along the border.
