Hezbollah is weaker, but it’s not disappeared. It still possesses thousands of rockets and missiles and continues to invest in expanding its drone capabilities
The unequivocal answer is yes. But the story is far more complex than a one-word answer.
The operation had two main achievements. The first was psychological. It restored Israel’s standing as a security power capable of carrying out operations that had seemed unimaginable or impossible.
After October 7, it demonstrated to the region in which we live that Israel had recovered and was capable of penetrating even its enemies’ most sensitive systems. This was enormously important for Israel’s deterrence. Hezbollah, the strongest and most important militia in the Shi’ite axis, suddenly found itself in deep distress and embarrassment.

Clearly the beeper operation was spectacular. But Iran was quickly to send in several hundred of its most experienced IRGC officers to help Hezbollah quickly recover and reorganize. IRGC officers tasked with helping Hezbollah recover arrived shortly after a ceasefire in November 2024 and set to work even as Israel continued to strike. Iranian officers filled the gaps before they restructured the Lebanese group and laid strategic and tactical plans for the war that the group is now waging against Israel Hezbollah radically altered its strategy and tactics; with these recent Iranian-led missile and drone attacks in March 2026 targeted southern Israel, specifically causing significant damage to Arad and near Dimona, breaching air defenses near key strategic sites. The attacks, part of an intensified campaign, resulted in dozens of injuries and substantial destruction in these areas.
The question is how could have Israel effectively neutralized this IRGC Hezbollah reorganizing operation ?
