The Iraqi militia “Al-Nuajaba” has strengthened its presence in Aleppo over the past few days and brought in reinforcements, bringing them up to about 850 fighters. The militia was formed under the umbrella organization of the Iraqi Al-Ḥashd ash-Shaabi. The militia consists of 3 brigades, includes Shiite fighters from Arab countries and is located in Damascus and Aleppo. The militia is well trained in the use of various weapons including heavy artillery, tanks, and rockets.

The Imam Ali Battalions militia has opened a recruitment office in Aleppo. The terms of the recruitment are to commit to 20 workdays each month, in exchange for a monthly salary of $200 for married people, and $150 for singles. The militia is an armed branch of the Islamic Iraq movement, which appeared in Aleppo in 2014 and has since fought alongside other Shiite militias under Iranian supervision.
