During the war, 4 senior commanders in the military branch were eliminated, including the Commander of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) (Hossein Salami), Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces (Mohammad Bagheri), Commander of the Emergency Staff (Gholam Ali Rashid), and also his replacement (Ali Shadamani).

Also eliminated was the commander of the Air and Space Force of the Revolutionary Guards (Amir Ali Hajizadeh), together with the entire senior leadership of this branch.

Two senior officials in the Quds Force were eliminated, Head of the Palestine Department in the Quds Force (Mohammed Said Izadi) and Commander of Unit 190 of the Quds Force (Behnam Shahriari).

In a large-scale strike in Tehran on IRGC headquarters during the last 24 hours of the operation, about 200–300 IRGC and Basij soldiers were eliminated.

The elimination of the military leadership constitutes a significant blow to the strategic, operational, and intelligence capabilities of Iran’s armed forces. The elimination of the Head of the Palestine Department and the Commander of Unit 190 in the Quds Force impairs Iran’s ability to operate it proxies in the Middle East.

In addition, 12 senior scientists in the nuclear program were eliminated. Their elimination constitutes a blow to the knowledge center and to Iran’s capability to reconstruct the nuclear program.
