US Strikes on IRGC Targets Across Greater Tunb Island – 01 to 18 March 2026

Between March 01 and March 18, 2026, US Forces have hit several Iranian military targets on the island of Greater Tunb, seen in Sentinel-2 imagery

@CopernicusEU. At least 14 buildings have been either heavily damaged or destroyed, including the main Airfield hangar, the Port Operations Center, the main communications station, a fuel depot, and other facilities supporting the IRGC’s vast network of underground bunkers on Greater Tunb. These underground facilities are believed to be storing anti-ship missiles and other weapons threatening freedom of navigation and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz. Greater Tunb is one of three disputed islands claimed by the UAE. On March 22, an IRGC spokesman warned the UAE, “If any aggression is repeated from its territory toward the Iranian islands of Abu Musa and Greater Tunb in the Persian Gulf, the Iranian Armed Forces will subject the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to direct and devastating strikes.” The weapons storage bunkers on Greater Tunb appear not to have been targeted but are easily penetrable with US ordnance, and could receive a similar saturation strike as seen on Kharg Island.
