Weekend Update May 09-12, 2024, 02:00 pm – Northern Arena

  1. Since Thursday (May 09), Hezbollah claimed responsibility for 23 attacks against Israel using high-trajectory fire (including Burkan, Grad, and Falaq rockets), anti-tank missiles, and UAVs.
  2. In these attacks, the communities of Netua, Kfar Giladi, Metula, and the city of Kiryat Shmona were attacked by UAV’s, anti-tank missiles, Grad, and Falaq rockets.
  3. On Thursday, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for attacking a military base in northern Israel using UAVs. There was no further indication of such an attack.
  4. Also on Thursday, Hezbollah launched Burkan rockets toward the city of Shlomi. According to Hezbollah, the attack was aimed at a military base, but the rocket hit civilian areas. Attached is a video documenting the rocket hitting the city (from social media, credit: unknown).
  5. On Friday (May 10), Hezbollah launched Grad and Falaq rockets toward the city of Kiryat Shmona. 35 rockets were fired, 15 of which were intercepted and about 20 hit the city territory. Massive damage was caused to infrastructure and property – dozens of houses and vehicles were damaged. Following the shooting, a fire broke out in the Ramim Ridge causing massive damage.

  7. Yesterday (May 11), Hezbollah launched two UAVs toward Beit Hillel.  There were no casualties.
  8. IDF struck several Hezbollah targets in south Lebanon including military compounds and infrastructure around: Ayta ash Shab, Kfarkela, Aalma El Chaeb, Yaroun, Blida, Odaisseh, Khiam, Rab El Thalathine, Deir Siriane, Mhaibib and Amra.
