Daily Update (March 16): Hezbollah Attacks Against Israel

On March 16, 37 Hezbollah attack waves against Israel were identified. In terms of weapon types, 29 attack waves (approx. 78.4%) were carried out using rockets and missiles, 5 attack waves (approx. 13.5%) using UAVs, and 3 attacks (approx. 8.1%) using anti-tank missiles. The figures refer to the number of attack waves identified, not the total number of munitions launched. Most of the attacks were directed toward border communities and the Galilee. In one incident, rockets and UAVs were launched toward the city of Nahariya, where a rocket struck a residential neighborhood. It also appears that 9 of the attacks during the day targeted IDF forces operating in southern Lebanon. It should be noted that information regarding attacks inside Lebanon is based primarily on Hezbollah’s claims of responsibility, and apart from one case, no additional independent indications were identified. Since Hezbollah joined the fighting on March 2, a total of 522 attack waves against Israel have been identified. An examination of the weapon types used indicates that rockets and missiles remain the organization’s primary means of attack, with 362 attack waves, alongside 143 UAV attack waves, 16 anti-tank missile attacks, and one IED attack. An examination of the daily trend indicates fluctuations in the scope of attacks throughout the campaign. Following a slight decrease on March 15 (34 attack waves), a renewed increase to 37 attack waves was recorded. Despite this variability, the volume of attacks continues to average dozens of waves per day, indicating that Hezbollah is maintaining a sustained offensive operational tempo, primarily through rocket fire alongside continued UAV usage.
