Radwan Unit’s Khader Hashem Killed in Airstrike as Hezbollah Struggles to Recover

Khader Sayed Hashem, a senior member of Hezbollah’s Radwan unit (also known as “Tzadak”), was killed in an aerial attack on March 4 while driving his vehicle in the village of Rechknanay, Qana region, in southern Lebanon.

The Radwan unit divided its activity in southern Lebanon into six areas: two areas in the western sector (The coast and Qana), two areas in the central sector (Bint Jbeil and Hajir) and two areas in the eastern sector (Al-Khiam and Chebba-Har Dov). During the war, all six commanders of these areas were eliminated as well as some of their replacements. The Radwan unit is currently trying to rehabilitate itself after hundreds of its operatives and 31 of its senior commanders were killed in the war and much of its military infrastructure in southern Lebanon was destroyed. They cannot currently carry out the original large invasion plan, but in our estimation, they can try to carry out targeted operations on ad hoc basis.
