Following reports of strikes against gas stations belonging to Al-Amana (Al-Amana). Al-Amana is Hezbollah’s energy platform in Lebanon and operates, among other things, a network of gas stations. The network operates dozens of gas stations, mainly in Shiite areas in Lebanon. It constitutes part of Hezbollah’s internal economic system and serves as a source of income for the organization’s activities. The United States imposed sanctions on the company in February 2020 due to its ties to Hezbollah, and it is recognized as a terrorist entity. The company is responsible for managing Hezbollah’s fuel sector. It supplies fuel: To the Shiite population in routine times and in emergencies. To Hezbollah’s military fuel sector in routine times and in emergencies. The company maintains emergency storage facilities and fuel reserves. That is, beyond civilian activity, this constitutes a strategic military logistical infrastructure for Hezbollah. The company was involved in fuel smuggling to Syria and vice versa, including the transfer of fuel that had arrived from Iran via Syria to Lebanon. The company assisted in distributing Iranian fuel from Iranian tankers that arrived during Lebanon’s fuel crisis.
