Hezbollah Attacks Against Israel Since the Beginning of the Ground Maneuver in Lebanon – Data Review (October 1-20, 2024)

Since the beginning of the IDF’s ground maneuvers in southern Lebanon until today (October 1–20, 2024), Hezbollah has carried out 730 attacks against Israel, averaging 36.5 attacks per day. In comparison, in the months preceding the maneuver, the average monthly attack was 270 (9 attacks per day). The daily average of strikes today is four times the pre-maneuver average. Since the beginning of the maneuver, Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for another 50 attacks for which there was no verification.

Hezbollah carried out the vast majority of the attacks into Israeli territory using rocket fire. We know of over 1,598 rockets and missiles fired into Israeli territory from Lebanon from the beginning of the ground maneuver (October 1) until today. This is an average of about 80 rockets/missiles a day.

Another Hezbollah prominent weapon is its UAV array. Since the beginning of the ground maneuver, there have been 42 UAV incidents (at least 2-3 UAVs are launched in each incident). Rocket and missile fire typically precedes the launch of UAVs. It seems that Hezbollah is using its UAVs to gain victorious images.

Hezbollah carries out most of its attacks (57.8%) in areas and towns near the border with Lebanon (0–5 km). Hezbollah carried out 14.2% of its attacks against IDF forces maneuvering in Lebanon, with the majority (77) employing high-trajectory fire and the remainder using anti-tank missiles (13), IEDs (9), and Machine Guns (7).

In response to the ground maneuver, Hezbollah extended its rocket fire deep into Israel, spanning over 5 kilometers, and is targeting civilian population centers in cities like Krayot, Haifa, Karmiel, Safed, Rosh Pina and Katzrin, as well as central Israel, including the Gush Dan area, Tel Aviv, Herzliya, and Samaria.
