Hezbollah’s “Land of Tunnels” – the North Korean-Iranian Connection

Alma’s following report exposes a new strategic challenge for IDF and Israel. After the Second Lebanon War of 2006, Hezbollah, supported by the North Koreans and the Iranians, established the “Land of the Tunnels”: a project of an “inter-regional” tunnel network of enormous magnitude.

It is not just a local set of tunnels, it is a network consisting of tens of kilometers of inter-regional tunnels that extend and connect Hezbollah’s three strategic areas:
1. Beirut area – Hezbollah’s central headquarters.
2. Bekaa area – Hezbollah’s logistical operational backbone.
3. Southern Lebanon – Hezbollah’s defensive positions.

Furthermore, they link the various sub-zones within southern Lebanon (the first and second lines of defense).

This tunnel allows Hezbollah to mobilize forces from one zone to another out of sight and in relative safety.

  1. Reminds me of Greece vs. Sparta. Israel might just as well publish it. Doesn’t make any difference.

  2. The head of snake must be crushed. Either we crush it or it will do us. This is a regime that has killed/executed over 50,000 of it’s own people. Has killed and injured millions in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen to establish the Shia Empire. They WILL NEVER STOP.

Israel must actively participate in bringing the Iranian opposition together. They must lead the way to change the regime in Iran.

There are only two known/important groups. Reza Pahlavi and Iranian Mojahedin. The third wheel is Khatami the former Iran’s president. All three groups rather die than work together. But that is the only feasible key to force open this lock.

Then there is the Five Year Provincial Government, a body to take over for 5 years before the new constitution is prepared and voted on.

2500 years ago, the Persians helped Israelis come home, now Israel and only Israel can help Iranians to come come. This is difficult but not impossible. There is no other way.

  3. I am Japanese journalist and former Seoul bureau chief of the Asahi Shimbun newspaper Tokyo. This report is very interesting. I would like to ask some questions about this report. If you could accept, I will send my questionnaire soon.
Thank you again and stay healthy.
