Situational Overview: Hezbollah Attacks Against Israel (as of April 16)

Since the beginning of the fighting (March 2), a total of 1,386 attack waves targeting Israeli territory have been identified. Since the ceasefire between Iran and the US–Israel came into effect, Hezbollah has continued to attack Israel at a relatively intense average rate of approximately 27 attacks per day. Prior to the ceasefire with Iran, Hezbollah’s daily average stood at 31 attacks, indicating a slight decrease in the daily volume of attacks. On April 14, an IDF soldier was killed in Lebanon as a result of a vehicle rollover accident. To date, 13 IDF soldiers and 3 civilians have been killed in the northern arena. In terms of weapon types, there remains a clear dominance of rockets and missiles (72.3%), alongside significant use of UAVs (27.3%). Geographically, the majority of attacks continue to focus on northern Israel, particularly border communities: •978 attacks (approximately 70.8%) within 0–5 km of the border •377 attacks (approximately 27.3%) at ranges of 5–40 km, up to the Haifa area •A very small proportion of attacks reached longer ranges In recent days, there has been an increase in attempts to target major urban centers in northern Israel, particularly Nahariya and Karmiel. Direct impacts in civilian areas have also been recorded, including damage to a residential building and a main road in Nahariya. These incidents highlight the direct impact on daily life and the ongoing risk to the civilian population. Over the past 24 hours (early morning, April 16), Hezbollah launched a surface-to-surface missile that hit in an open area south of Haifa. This incident indicates Hezbollah’s intent to demonstrate its capability to conduct medium- to long-range launches, although this capability remains limited. In addition, it should be noted that Hezbollah continues to carry out attacks against IDF forces operating in southern Lebanon. However, these data are not included in the current report, which focuses solely on attacks directed at Israeli territory.
